Tech Data sponsors UK Cloud Awards 2017
Technology distributor backs awards celebrating innovation and technical excellence in the UK cloud IT market
Leading IT, communications and electronic services provider Tech Data has been announced as a sponsor of the UK Cloud Awards 2017 for the first time. The awards, established by the Cloud Industry Forum in association with Cloud Pro, recognise the leading vendors, customers and individuals that have set the benchmark for the UK Cloud industry over the past year.
The UK Cloud Awards, now in its fourth year, celebrates innovation, entrepreneurialism and technical excellence in the UK cloud IT market and showcase the leading vendors, customers and individuals who are setting the benchmark in the UK and beyond. Entries are currently flooding in for the awards, which culminate at an awards ceremony in central London on 15 March 2017.
A panel of independent judges will produce a shortlist of contenders and will decide on an overall winner in each category. Tech Data will be paying particular attention to the Best Cloud Service Provider (CSP) category, which it is sponsoring.
Submissions for the awards remain open until 24 January 2017 and there is an early bird offer in place until 30 December 2016. Entries can be entered at www.ukcloudawards.co.uk.
Andy Gass, Managing Director, UK and Ireland, Tech Data, said: “It has been amazing to see the UK Cloud Awards grow at the pace that they have year on year. The awards have certainly become definitive recognition of excellence in such an exciting and important market. We are delighted to be sponsoring the Best Cloud Service Provider award and are very much looking forward to finding out the deserved winner. I have every confidence that the 2017 awards will be the biggest and best yet.”
“Tech Data has played a leading role in advancing the Microsoft Cloud Solutions Provider (CSP) programme and is now creating a complete Microsoft cloud ecosystem that will enable partners to deliver the vendor’s software stack along with complementary solutions, quickly and efficiently through its solutions aggregation platform StreamOne.”
The judging panel – chaired by Cloud Pro’s Founding Editor Max Cooter – comprises of a number of experts in the field of cloud computing, including consultants, analysts, CIOs, academics and venture capitalists. The full list of judges can be found on the UK Cloud Awards website.
Alex Hilton, CEO of the Cloud Industry Forum, said: “Tech Data has been an active supporter of the Cloud Industry Forum ever since it joined our ranks, and it has been excellent working closely with them to increase awareness among resellers and end users of trusted cloud services and raising confidence in the industry. I’m therefore delighted that they are able to support the UK Cloud Awards this year. The Best Cloud Service Provider award is one of the most hotly-contested categories on offer and I look forward to celebrating with Tech Data and the winners on the night.”
