The Cloud Security Alliance gets behind the UK Cloud Awards 2017
Organisation dedicated to raising awareness of the best practices in cloud computing security supports the awards celebrating innovation in the UK cloud market
The UK Chapter of the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) has signalled its support for the UK Cloud Awards 2017. The awards, established by the Cloud Industry Forum (CIF) in association with Cloud Pro, recognise the leading providers, projects and individuals that have set the benchmark for the UK cloud industry over the past year.
The UK Cloud Awards, now in its fourth year, celebrate innovation, entrepreneurialism and technical excellence in the UK cloud IT market and showcase the leading vendors, customers and individuals who are setting the benchmark in the UK and beyond.
With the nomination period for this year’s awards almost over, CIF and Cloud Pro are reminding organisations to get their last minute entries in before midnight on 31st January 2017.
The CSA will join headline sponsors; SunGard AS, ScienceLogic, T-Systems, TechData and Ensono, in celebrating the very best providers, projects and products that the UK Cloud industry has to offer at the ceremony at the OXO2 in central London on 15 March 2017.
A panel of independent judges, including Vladimir Jirasek, Research Director at the CSA, will produce a shortlist of contenders and will decide on an overall winner in each category. Entries can be entered at www.ukcloudawards.co.uk.
Alexander Akinjayeju, Chairman of the Board at Cloud Security Alliance – UK & Ireland Chapter: “As an organisation our aim is to provide a forum through which parties can work together to create and maintain a trust in the cloud industry. We work hard to define and raise awareness of the benchmark for professional competency in cloud computing security, so we are delighted to be supporting an event that highlights excellence in the UK cloud market. The CSA’s Research Director, Vladimir, is very excited to be on the judging panel to see first-hand the innovative products, projects and skills that the UK cloud industry has had to offer in 2016.”
The judging panel – chaired by Cloud Pro’s Founding Editor Max Cooter – comprises of a number of experts in the field of cloud computing, including consultants, analysts, CIOs, academics and venture capitalists. The full list of judges can be found on the UK Cloud Awards website.
Alex Hilton, CEO of the Cloud Industry Forum, said: “We now have five commercial sponsors and two of the most impactful and respected UK trade bodies in the form of techUK and Cloud Security Alliance supporting the UK Cloud Awards. As far as partnerships go, this one with Cloud Security Alliance couldn’t be a better fit. As the founder of the industry’s first cloud security user certification, the Certificate of Cloud Computing Security Knowledge (CCSK), which was a benchmark for professional competency in cloud computing security, we are delighted that the organisation has decided to support this year’s awards. CSA’s activities, knowledge and extensive network benefit the entire cloud community and perfectly complement the work that CIF does. Time is running out to enter this year’s awards, which promises to be the biggest and best yet, so we are encouraging businesses to get their entries in as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.”
